I'm pretty sure that's all that has to be said to trigger an idea of how the acting was. We've got Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Paudkone as the main characters and Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapoor as the supporting cast. Pritam has manages to hit the charts with his step-grooving songs like 'Badtameez Dil', 'Balam Pichkari' and 'Dilliwali Girlfriend' The acting is, obviously, extremely good considering its star cast. The songs are another topic to talk about. It doesn't fail to captivate your senses with its emotion, humor and acting. The replay value is quite high, I suppose.

However, this movie isn't one that you see if you have time to kill you can watch any time and still have fun. But YJHD is a classic masala film with a lot of messages. Its not a GRAND movie and comes no way close to 'Wake Up Sid', Mukerji's debut film and what make him rise to fame.

It is FULL of clichés, obviously, but it is the way Ayan Mukherji has directed it that makes it so good.

By the end of the movie I can say: I liked it. In the next month, my television was bombarded with advertisements promoting the film, so I decided to give it a shot, considering the star cast. The exotic locations were great and I really liked the idea of friendship, however, when the thought of love entered halfway through the trailer, I wasn't quite enthusiastic because I thought it would be another 'Love Aaj Kal' which was horrible.

When I saw it, I didn't quite know how to react. One of the reasons were the fact that it had reunited Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Paudkone (ex-lovers) for a movie. Okay, when the trailer of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani came out, it was all Indian cinema fans could talk about. Thus forms the rest of the story, how her trip to Manali changes her whole lifestyle as well as makes her part of one of the greatest friendships. She finds an urge to go, in an attempt to let out her wild side as well as make new friends. One day, upon meeting Aditi in a hypermarket, she hears about Bunny, Avi and her going for a mountain-trekking in Manali. Naina, a girl who's extremely studious, always tops the class although she has no friends.

Bunny, Avi and Aditi are your normal care-free attitude people who are just looking to enjoy life any way they can. The film revolves around the lives of 4 friends: Bunny, Avi and Aditi, and how Naina meets them.

And if it's so damned cold where they are that they're concerned with hypothermia and frostbite, why does the female lead spend the majority of the time with no head covering and only a thin pair of knitted gloves? These may be trivial issues to some viewers, but they definitely lower my rating.YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI is a film directed by Ayan Mukherji, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Paudkone, Kalki Koechlin & Aditya Roy Kapoor. Subjective peeves: When characters who are discussing disease theories are supposed to be scientists, they ought to know the difference between a virus and bacteria (sadly, the ignorance of this difference amongst the general population is one of the reasons we have more and more antibiotic-resistant bacteria.) They also should know that alcohol is not one's "best friend" in extreme cold, as it actually lowers body temperature. Not bad for what it is, but the imdb rating seems suspiciously high to me. Maybe 50% English dialogue, 50% French (with English subtitles on the version I saw.) A cut above most of the dreck Amazon Prime offers for free.
